Despite escalating worries about the sustainability of the AI buildout and inflation, the S&P 500 Index rebounded nicely in Q2 after struggling in the first quarter of 2026. Investors shifted focus away from data-center hyperscalers (Microsoft, Google, Amazon, etc.) and dramatically bid up shares of semiconductor producers and related equipment businesses that sell to them. Encouragingly, the Q2 rally broadened and included other sectors of the market, such as healthcare, industrials, and financials.
